Site-based classes (mybsf.org)

These are the "traditional" classes that would be meeting in person if we weren't in the midst of a pandemic. They have a physical location where the class or group meets.

The technical help is a chat feature backed by humans, some of whom are BSF employees. Look for "Need Technical help?" at the bottom of the page when you select "Lessons" (it won't appear on any other page)

BSF Online (bsfonline.org)

These are groups of folks who have always met online and will always meet online. They are not in a class that meets on-site, but choose a group by meeting time and day of the week. Before the pandemic forced all BSF'ers online, this was the original online option for BSF.

Technical help is via an email response system. You can search for answers and also submit an email request. Look for the "Need help?" link at the bottom of the page.

Word Go (wordgo.org)

Word Go is a small group and individual study of shorter duration and doesn't follow a year-long study pattern. There could be a series of short studies if you attend a Word Go group.

Technical help is mostly self-serve with plenty of FAQ's. There is an email response system as well on the website and a chatbot in the app.

Tips and tricks for mybsf.org

Support resources are OK at mybsf.org. The new website was developed by an offshore company that is separate from BSF. That means you won't have a more direct connection to the developers. Your questions are first handled by a staff that is mostly contracted folks who work for Tawk.to, the support tool. If they cannot answer the question, a person familiar with BSF will attempt to answer the question. If they cannot answer the question, it may mean that a person from the company that developed the website might have to be contacted. All of that means that your success in quickly getting a good answer may be hit or miss.

The website IS new and since the BSF staff didn't drectly develop the website, the BSF staff may still be dealing with bugs and learning curve. Please be patient with them.

Support at bsfonline.org is through self-service and email based support. That means that there could be some delay in getting a response to your question. The support is good with knowledgeable staff answering the email questions.

Word Go support is pretty much self service. There is a lengthy list of FAQ's and there is a chatbot in the app that can answer basic questions. The email support is backed by humans but turnaound can take a bit.

The BSF app

You will find this in the app store or Google Play store. It doesn't require a login. It doesn't have access to individual class lectures. It isn't connected to your class or bsfonline. It won't have the children's a preschool resources like mybsf.org does.

The BSF app is a true app, not a website. It has some limited features with the one plus that answers to questions are stored in the app itself (unfortunately not accessible from anywhere else).

My BSF

So what about mybsf.org? mybsf is for folks who are in a physical class and need access to class resources like lectures, lessons, notes and other materials. If you are in a bsfonline.org group, you dont need an account at mybsf.org. Everything you need is at bsfonline.org.

MyBSF.org is a website, not an app. That can be confusing because there is a app link on the home page as well as a link FROM the BSF app to the mybsf.org website.
